Default engine check light

it is soo frustrating to see that light on all the time..

i went to honda and they fixed the problem. a day later...it pops up again..take it to honda...again...and they say that they dont see anything wrong.

i think i read somewhere that i can reset it..is this true? i just need that thing off..it makes me feel really uneasy..and if supposedly theres nothing wrong..then im just going to reset it.

anyone with info?

thanks guys
jay

yeah CEL's don't just pop up for no reason.

this is the check engine light, right? not the maintenance required light.....

if it's the CEL then take it to an auto zone or some place like that. they have a tool that you can use to pull the code. get the code pulled and come back and post it here.

Go under your steering wheel on the left side theres a box of fuses. Pull the 3rd from the top fuse (7.5 amps) (red) on the right side. Keep it off for a minute, put it back in. You should have your key in the ignition, but not turned. When you take off the fuse, the beeping of your open door should stop, when you put it in, it should start beeping again. That's all

Don't be resetting your ECU until you know what the code is. There is a reason that it comes on. It's trying to tell you something. Why are you just ignoring it? Find out what the code is and FIX THE PROBLEM.

when i went to honda they told me they fixed it so they never wrote me up anything. i did ask what the problem was however and supposedly it had something to do with my air box. some wires were "twisted". those were their exact words!

im going to take your advice and stop by pep boys to find out the code for the problem..if nothing is wrong...then i'l reset it.

thanks guys for your help.

Tread lightly with this Jay.

How did the wires get "twisted"? What you did?

Anything the dealer does, you should get paperwork.

If you have a cell when you get to pepbois, don't just reset and move along. Something IS wrong and the cause needs some type of rectification.
