Default Engine Damper

Hello everyone! I'm a first time owner for a nice 2003 Honda S2000. I have acquired an NRG Engine Damper and I wanted to know if anyone else has installed one or has instructions to install one. Thank you

You have to mod the car to cut the fusebox mounting tab. Someone here sold a bracket that allows mounting nrg without hacking the car. Its still available. Do some searching, pm him, and you can buy this bracket.

In order to dampen torque, you must first have any torque to dampen. You might consider selling it if you must hack the car to install it.

i've installed a spoon etd and have removed it. there is a noticeable difference, but the dampener was rubbing against something so i said forget it.

my dangling fuse box is still holding up and dangling 10 years later.

NRG used to have a SKU for a pre-drilled heat shield packaged with their engine damper. If you have that heat shield from NRG, it is basically plug-n-play.

I don't see where OP mentioned anything about torque needs to be dampen. Maybe it is just in your head.

Yes, these cars don't make a lot of torque for the hp they generate, but for engine displacement, torque is actually pretty decent. And yes, a torque damper is effective in these cars. It will preserve those costly engine mounts, and make shifting smoother, and rev matching easier, and throttle response crisper. Worthwhile.

After I installed my "Tuffy" torque damper many years ago and could not see any appreciable change in the driving of the car. Later, during a phone call about another matter with Scott Zellner, owner of King Motorsports, I mentioned the torque damper. He laughed and jokingly threatened to hang up on me.

Others have reported very good results. Billman endorses using them to preserve motor mounts.

This may be apples and oranges. I've known him for many years and respect Bill a lot. The same stands for Scott. How many national professional race cars has Bill built? How many national professional race series team titles has Bill won? How many times has he been named Team Manager of the Year in a national professional race series? With all due respect, it's an apples and oranges reference.
