Default Engine done

Well it looks like I will need a new engine in my 05. Bent valve, damaged head and scored cylinder walls (two). I'm looking for any ideas on where to look. I have drooled (a little) over the SPOON engine. I have looked on Majestic's website for the individual parts, as listed by my local Honda dealer who wanted 9700 just for parts (no thanks) and browsed through eBay a little. Does anyone have any recommendations on where else to source a F22C for a 2005 S? I am also open to any other brilliant ideas on what to do from here lol. I am not an expert level mechanic by any means, so I have to find a place to have the work as well. Thanks. I am currently living in Alexandria, VA.

Don't piece one together. Buy a factory assembled engine and swap it in.

Check ebay. TAE auto parts has a good reputation.

You can buy longblock assemblies from a dealer....but I'm sure the cost is very high.

A tip for the future would be not to bang gears like a maniac. Less chance of the mechanical over rev situation that I'm sure you experienced.

I checked a couple of months ago. My Honda guy told me it looks like production has stopped and all the inventory is out in storage/shipping facilities. When they are gone, they are gone. You can still get a 10% discount if you smooth talk them. Donn't recall exact price but I want to say it was south of $4K. Same story for head assemblies.
