I would file a small claims court suit. Its not expensive, don't need a lawyer. Dealership may cave and pay to avoid bad publicity from a potential loss in court on their record.

Make sure you bring copies of everything, every receipt, etc.

Best to explain to judge in clear, concise, non-technical jargon. If you can get shop that fixes car to state what they think happened, that would be great. Get them to write it out on their letterhead, etc.

Good luck.

We're wrecking AP2s every week and Ebay has pages of complete engines. Some complete with transmissions.

Thanks. Is the F22C the same across the AP2 line? Mine is a 05. Or does it have to be a 04/05 motor?

04/05 is best. 06+ isn't as straight forward.

Yeah that's what I thought. Unfortunately for me the pages of engines on eBay seem to be 06+. Thanks for the info. I'll keep looking.

Thanks. How does one end up on a list for a short block if I wanted to replace it? Or is that a Jedi level trick? I will get around to posting pictures of all this soonish. The Army is demanding on my personal time lol.

Well thanks to some folks on here and TAE, the engine has been swapped and I'm running strong. Thanks for your ideas, smart-ass remarks and thoughtful insight! I will get pics up she is cleaned.

Given you're in VA you should seriously consider having InlinePRO build you an engine and install it.

edit: oops, missed your most recent post, InlinePRO is likely way more than you'd have wanted to spend anyway.

my 05 s2000 has an engine swap from an 08 or 09 CR, I forget which year but I bought the entire longblock, header, intake manifold, clutch/flywheel/pressure plate off ebay.

like the poster above stated, it wasn't as straight forward. The shop told me the air pump can no longer be used and I had to buy an izze-racing air pump simulator to get rid of the check engine light(has worked perfectly going on 4 years now). The shop did have to use my original intake manifold/throttle body, valve cover, cam position sensor, cam wheels, and crank wheels. The shop did not swap the crank wheels originally and my car would get a CEL and go into limp mode where I could barely drive it if I hit high rpms. Instead of taking it back to them since they would charge me more I simply dropped the oil pan and pulled the timing cover to change the wheel out myself. 40,000 miles later still going strong no CEL and the engine has about 20k less miles than the car...
