You can buy longblock assemblies from a dealer....but I'm sure the cost is very high.
I checked a couple of months ago. My Honda guy told me it looks like production has stopped and all the inventory is out in storage/shipping facilities. When they are gone, they are gone. You can still get a 10% discount if you smooth talk them. Donn't recall exact price but I want to say it was south of $4K. Same story for head assemblies.
I'll keep at it. Thanks.

Just buy a used f22c long block online for about $3000 and swap it in. No big deal. I have had great luck on eBay with tae auto. They have have s2000s engines. I bought a f22c for on them last yet and put it in my brothers s2000 and it runs great. Was about $3,000.

Well it looks like I will need a new engine in my 05. Bent valve, damaged head and scored cylinder walls (two). I'm looking for any ideas on where to look. I have drooled (a little) over the SPOON engine. I have looked on Majestic's website for the individual parts, as listed by my local Honda dealer who wanted 9700 just for parts (no thanks) and browsed through eBay a little. Does anyone have any recommendations on where else to source a F22C for a 2005 S? I am also open to any other brilliant ideas on what to do from here lol. I am not an expert level mechanic by any means, so I have to find a place to have the work as well. Thanks. I am currently living in Alexandria, VA.
Don't piece one together. Buy a factory assembled engine and swap it in.

Check ebay. TAE auto parts has a good reputation.

A tip for the future would be not to bang gears like a maniac. Less chance of the mechanical over rev situation that I'm sure you experienced.
Fair enough. Have I over revved? Sure a couple of times in the 11 years I've owned the car. Strangely enough Honda did a valve adjustment and 11 miles later the valve train failed. It's hard to over rev when I'm driving 40 MPH. I've lost my bid to have them fix it. I'll look at TAE and keep searching. Thanks.

Dude, I wouldn't be looking for an engine, I would be looking for a lawyer! If you have the service slip that says xx,xxx miles and a valve adjustment and then xx,xxx +11 the valves got smashed to hell, I think you have a pretty solid case!

That's what I thought too. I had a lawyer. I tried to work it out but the dealership wouldn't budge. I don't have the money to launch a lawsuit though. This all happened the 1st week of August. I've decided to cut my losses and put the money towards getting it fixed. Basically it boiled down to not being able to prove that because the dealership did the work the valve train failed. I'm not looking for sympathy, I'm just looking for ways to get it fixed.

Best option is a new 2.2 short block, and have your head repaired or find a nice used cylinder head.

New short blocks have become a hot topic. They are on backorder, and I am on a list to get one of only 4 due to be released.

If your car had a broken retainer, I can guarantee it was overlooked by the dealer.

Pull the cover and do some assessment, look for broken retainers or loose adjustment nuts.
