Default ENGINE ERROR CODE P1607 ECU PROBLEM

Hi first of all am new on here so a big hello to all petrol heads. I have a Honda S2000 Gt for last year or so the car was parked in my workshop i took it of the road last winter and decided to design a body kit in my spare time to make it look a little more aggressive. But over the time the battery went flat and my kid decided to jump start the engine a few weeks a go when i started on the kit it started up fine but went in to limp mode.

I put the code reader on it and its reading code P1607 which is the ecu i did put a fully charged battery in it before i connected the code reader. I have tried to erase the error code but it keeps coming back it erases when the engine warms up on temperature then its fine goes out of limp mode but the next morning same thing again the CEL comes on at ignition but dosent go of and this is before i even turn the engine. would this be a component in the ecu which is taking time to worm up and then goes OK on temperature?
or is it because my kid put the jump leads on it and some thing is gone wrong in the ecu i havent drove the car.

can some thing be done about this or is it another ecu and reprogramming it. has any one else had a smiler issue or this error code?

all help is greatly appreciated. Many thanks in advance.

Seems as you fried something in the ecu. For instance, when the engine is cold the O2 sensors create ground within the ecu, then after they are warmed up, they create ground with the exhaust pipe (I'm not saying that happened).

You're better off getting another ECU and test if the cel comes back.

Many Thanks for the reply.

Its possibility will i need to get the ecu reprogrammed for the CEL to come on and of on ignition. I can get a same part number ecu for a 100 pounds of ebay and 150 to remove the mobilizer and flash it that the only way one of the guy said he can do it. But that would remove the oil light because its linked with the e mobilizer and i will have to check the oil every know and then manually.

on the other had there is a guy on the net with good reviews who repairs ecu's and he said just send it to him and he will test the ecu and if its all good its 60 pounds and if any components are gone in it or on they way out he can repair it for another 50 to 80 so all together from 110 to 130 all in and post it back to me with 2 years warranty . i was thinking that's a better option that way i wouldn't need to reprogram the ecu and if the ecu is ok i can run some tests on the car wiring for shortage using the manual if it is gone he can replace the components need and it should work.

I am planing on posting the ecu tomorrow i have told him to send some pictures if he needs to change any thing in the ecu so i can put up on here to help any one else with a same issue.

If you have the helms service manual, follow the instructions to the letter, and that will be a better diagnosis.

PS: never wait for the oil light to come on. If the oil light comes on, chances are that you will need another engine. The manual states that you should manually check the oil EVERY tank of gas.
