Default engine fire -> damaged harness

Last weekend, I had an oil leak while driving on the highway. This resulted in an engine fire that caused damaged to the harness that connects the VTEC solenoid to the engine:

My first question is. If I were to order the parts to replace it, does it have to be the whole ENGINE WIRE HARNESS (illustration 1 on the pic below)?

As you can tell from the first picture, the wire still exist, but it's missing all the insulation. Is there other alternatives besides purchasing a complete harness? I'm not so handy with a soldering iron. But, is there any way I can tape this up to heatproof this?

Any input would be greatly appreciated. THANK YOU!

You'll need the complete engine harness, or find someone who can repair it. The hard part to find will be the connectors that are probably damaged, they are not sold seperately.

Unfortunately, Slows2k is correct. Either pony up for a complete harness or have yours repaired. Considering the price for a new one, I'd at least attempt a repair before laying out the $$.

Soldering iron, wire of the correct gauge, solder, wire loom, good electrical tape.

If you were a paid member, I'd sell you the part of the harness you need.

That's more than enough incentive to join. done. I'll join today and PM you about the harness. thanks Bill

Guys, I have another issue. the engine oil leak inside the header (inside the heatshield). I took it to a detail shop to clean the engine including the heatshield. Yet, it is still fuming!

I checked the dipstick, no oil leak. Temperature gauge is normal. No check-engine light. The gas consumption is normal. The fume is definitely coming from the manifolds. Should I be worried? What do you think about me letting the car run idle for an hour?

It'll fume for a while I think...

When I got a new exhaust it came with a thin layer of oil in it...Took a few hundred miles to burn it all off.

It's most likely residual oil burning off.. I'd assume the oil filter leaked and oil went everywhere & caught fire. It's not gonna be an easy clean up getting all the oil cleaned off.
