Ok so I have received some news back from my mechanic and he tells me that I have had a melt down in cylinders 3 and 4.

Turns out that I was able to melt the tips off both spark plugs in the chambers which in turn has fallen into the piston and scored the internal of the bore. I was told that the car was starved of fuel and was running lean hence the excess temperatures being reached. I have photos of the spark plugs and of my head which I would upload in the next few days.

I am also having my mechanic look into the fuel system to check to see if the fuel pump may have a malfunction could anyone recommend where else I should be looking to prevent this happening to my new motor?

sounds like the spark plugs weren't tightened to the proper specs, and were lose. I believe honda raised it from 12 lbs to 18lbs. Who ever changed the plugs previously is responsible

Really? How could I prove this and bring it to light with whoever did it?

My main concern is to figure out what caused the issue and prevent this from happening again...can someone tell me what are some causes that would make a car run lean?
