engine matience light came on?

Unhappy engine matience light came on?

not sure what really triggered it? i got on it from 1st to 4th today... then kept drivin down the highway for a while... then it blinked like 5 times . Not sure what it could be? any help?

It means it's time to change the oil. Also see the FAQ on how to reset it yourself. It is just a milage counter to let you know when to change the oil based on the odometer.

Can you remove it just by re setting the ECU?

If it goes away once the ECU is reset which I'm not sure, hence the question I asked above, you just have to remove a fuse for about 15 seconds or so and it will reset the ecu. That fuse you can find by your left leg under the dash on the right side. It is a 7.5 amp fuse and it is labeled "back up" I think in the little fuse box it is on the right most side and the second or 3rd from the top.
I just reset my ecu today. Had my maintenance light come on a while ago too, but had it at Billman250's and he took it off while he did some other things. Forgot to ask him. I'm sure on this board it has been gone over before however.

Or you could just hold the trip button and the one next to it while starting the car.... much easier
