Or you could just hold the trip button and the one next to it while starting the car.... much easier
Does sound a little bit easier. I'll do that next time.

This is the best way to do it. Put your key in the ignition, hold the Trip and the Sel (mph/kph) button at the same time, while holding bolth buttons turn your car to the start position, if the light does not clear right away keep holding the buttons for about 15-30 seconds. That should reset your light.

Correct, except you only have to hold down one button, the trip/reset button while you turn on the ignition key. Continue to hold the button down for 25-30 seconds and the maint light should clear.

It will come on again in about 6k miles.

The maintenance required light in not controlled by the PCM, reseting the PCM will not turn off the light.

Yes you only need to hold the one trip/reset pushbutton before (and while) turning ignition to "on" and holding for 10 seconds or so until maintenance light extinquishes.

Oh snap... You mean I have been wasting my time trying to hold two buttons in a akward position all this time. Good to know it should make life easier.
