P2647 error after oil change
I've got a 2008 S2000 with about 15k on it. I changed the oil this afternoon. When putting everything back together I forgot to plug the VTEC switch back in for the first start up. VSA light came on, so I shut it down and plugged it in. A quick check indicated I was still a bit low on oil. I added about 1/2 a quart on top of the original 5 quarts. When I started it up the CEL was lit. My cheapie code reader won't talk to the S2000 so I went to Autozone. We read a P2647 error.
Some spelunking around the web seemed to indicate this was one of the errors when too much oil was in the system. Checking the level it was indeed above the max.
I drained out about 1/4 quart so the level reads nearly to the top. The light is still lit though.
Any ideas of what I have done and how to rectify?

Okay, got it, but the CEL is still lit. I'm guessing I damaged the oil pressure switch when I pulled the wire off.
I'll order another switch and see. Are there any recommendations out there for a code reader? My Autel MS300 won't connect with the S2000.
Thanks

i just picked up one off ebay.. bluetooth, works w/ ipad.. like 10 bucks..
i don't know exactly ( not seeing ) what your working with.. however, i'd go over all these, maybe someone near you has some experience.. before I'd go off ordering stuff.. what damage.. not plugging it back in.. so, you plugged it back in.. that in itself, shouldn't have caused any damage, that I can imagine.. you didn't rev it up, you said, you started it, saw the lamps lite and shut it down, am I not following..
should, just replug, re-check the oil level and reset and be done.. if not..

LOL!
It's not that clean anymore.
Anyway, I did the scorched earth solution and disconnected the battery while we ate dinner.
I reconnected the battery and the CEL is extinguished
Thanks to all for the info.
Cheers
Chris
