My friend just bought an 02 s2k last weekend. Everything seemed excellent, motor very clean. A few days later a loud ticking noise became very noticable. It sounds like its coming from the front of the engine maybe in the valve cover, or one of the pulleys? I doubt it is one of the pulleys.... kinda sounds like a valve tap or something, but the motor is smooth and runs strong... could it be the Vtec?

Kind of but not that erratic.. its loud but not that bad... and its louder at idle.. i will look into it more, thanks for the info
