So i've noticed a ticking noise coming from my engine bay. I've had my 02 for about five years now and only used mobil 1 10w30 motor oil. I noticed the ticking noise a month or two back. I've done some research and figured maybe it was my TCT which i replaced with a brand new one maybe two weeks ago. The noise is still there. I was maybe thinking i need a valve adjustment but i'm not sure this will help. I have 124,000 miles on the car. There are no CEL's on and the car still runs strong. Any help will be appreciated.

 

124000 and you've never had a valve adjustment? Start there.

 

Stick a screwdriver against each injector and put the handle to your ear. Some of them are way louder than others. Honda's have loud ones for some reason. It may need the adjustment like stated above too.

 

I appreciate the input. Imma go ahead and get a valve adjustment done. The honda dealership is charging $150 in labor so sounds pretty reasonable. I hope this does the trick!
