engine noise after oil change

Default engine noise after oil change

Hey guys I noticed a noise coming from somewhere in the engine bay its a tick that starts when car is warm once you drive it for a while you can barely hear the noise .. never starved engine of oil I babyed the car

Could be your tensioner, or idler pulley bearings going south, it could be your valve clearance, or it could be TCT.

Take the serpentine belt off, start the car for no longer for 30 seconds, and see if the noise goes away. If it does, you should check the tensioner pully.

I changed out one of the pulleys but on one of the pulleys it didn't fit correctly I got it from AutoZone

OEM only for this car when it comes to that stuff. Autozone parts are good for the beater or daily driver. Even if you drive the S daily, get OEM pulleys. Ive made that mistake too many times and now when it comes to my Honda only OEM..

You don't need to change the pulley, just replace the bearing, look up part number bearing 6203 online, you can get it for around $7-10 free shipping, stay away from the cheaper ones. If you want to get fancy and never worry about any of them again, you can get a hybrid ceramic 6203 bearing and be done with it. I used it in my car, it's a bit quieter, but I know these bearings are good for 100,000rpm so although I can't say if they're better they're certainly not worse, and I'll probably never need to change them.
