Engine Oil Help!
I had Stupid PPL at Firestone change my oil. I brought in 6 Quarts of Mobil 1 and Guess what... some Smuck used all 6 Quarts. I maybe my Imagination but VTEC is not as Pronounced and Excelleration seems to bog and less responsive. CAn + .6 quarts of oil do this or is it something else.

if the dipstick is not over the limit, you should be good - just make sure you are checking it consistently - do a search - there's been a lot of different comments on checking oil, oil levels, mobil 1 with the s2000, etc. Many people feel it is sluggish after the switch to synthetic. How many miles are you at? I have 4k and did a dino engine oil change at 3k, but have the mobil 1 sitting in the garage to try later.

I have been following several of the threads about OIL consumption and how one owner actually had engine / valvetrain problems due to low oil.
So I decided to check my oil. When I check it after the car sits overnight the oil level is exactly at the LOW "L" marking on the dipstick.
If I check the dipstick after I have driven the car and let it sit for 15 minutes the dipstick reading is very inaccurate. There are SMALL amounts of oil splashed all along the points between the "L" and "H". There is NO definite OIL level line so to speak of.
My car has 27K miles on it so I would assume that if their where any oil consumption issues it would have stopped by now.
If I where to add a 1/2 Quart of oil how do I know what viscosity to add?
I know the manual states 10w30 but it also recommends 5w40 for cold temps. Are their any issues with mixing different viscosity oil?

You can mix 5W40 and 10W30 without any problem, just like you can mix water and milk. You won't have either but something in between, depending on how you mix.
