Engine oil question
does the s2k have a sensor that triggers the check engine light if it is overfilled? i got a check engine light after i changed my oil with 6 quarts. i'm thinking i should have only put 5-5.5 quarts.
any input on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

i was doing a search topic on oil changes and most said to put around 6. it triggered a check engine light on my 04 so i was just wondering. i put 5 in this time and checked the oil level and seems to be at a perfect level with no check engine light.
5.1 is what is supposed to be drained and replaced during an oil change. However, you should be checking the level after you fill to make sure you are in the "X'd" area on the dipstick. If it's above the H mark back the drain plug out a bit and let some out.
People using 6 might be doing a bit of a flush before refilling.

As per the step by step directions in the owners manual, you car takes 5.1 qts.
