The engine can be rebuilt by simply paying attention to the critical things mentioned in every rebuipd discussion thread.

The problem is these engines are so durable that if they get to the point of needing rebuild, typically the cylinder bores are beyond saving. You can't really bore them. If they are damaged or out round, there isn't much that can be done except sleeving them.

Bottom line is rare is the block that wears to point of needing rebuild and actually still can be rebuilt.

Its tough to complain though about a motor that doesn't need to be rebuilt and can easily go 300k+ and still run strong.

I should wrote more Precise: The problem ist to find a shop that knows the engine... Almost impossible here in Germany / Europe.
