Default Engine randomly cutting out

Hello everyone. Can you give me a clue?

My s2000 is cutting out every now and again when I let it fall to idle. It seems to be when it comes off choke or when I've been driving it agressively (but not exclusively!). Usually it will idle at 1000 revs but sometimes it seems to struggle at 600-800, cut out completely, or would appear to cut out but fire again after a quarter of a second or so. I can sometimes keep it going with the throttle, but sometimes it's a real struggle. Especially in traffic! Once it happens it won't stop till I stop turn off the engine, it cools, and I start it later in the day or the next morning. I mentioned it to Honda at its recent 54000 mile full service, but they said that the ecu wasnt recording any errors so there was nothing they could do. They took it out to see if it did it, naturally it didn't, so they just said come back when it's worse! Not much help!

Anyway. Assuming Honda don't have much of a clue, I wondered if you fellas might have a clue, and or could perhaps point me in the direction of someone good in Leeds or nr that might be able to help. It's an 03 by the way.

Many thanks

Jules

Clean your IAC valve. There's a diy around here somewhere.
