Default Engine Rebuild or Replacement...........

Hi all,

Help here would be appreciated!

The s2k ran low on oil (looks like had an oil leak under bonnet) and caused the engine some grief. It starts but is tappety, and knocks. I have been advised that the engine can be rebuilt but that there is no guarantee it will run as good before as there may be some other damage. The Oil also shows tiny metal fragments so it will be bearings etc minimum. I am no expert, so any advice here is ideal.

Do I risk rebuilding - or go for a replacement engine?

The garage it is being kept at has an R32 Skyline single turbo engine as a potential curve ball engine to look at..........

i would rebuild it, just cuz you know whats new on the inside regardless of it being high performance components or oem replacements. that way you have a new motor opposed to spending $3000 and getting some used motor with claimed low miles... up to you tho
