Default Engine Shaking

the cabin shakes when i'm in a couple of gears. it vibrates sort of violently. what i mean by a couple of gears, is it usually only happens in 2, 5, and 6. is there something wrong with the rods?

How have you determined it to be the engine? Bad CVs, bad rear diff, bad wheel hubs can produce a similar cabin shake.
If it were the engine, I would put my money on bad bearings - either crank or rod.

Ok, I have a similar problem. But only under acceleration. I notice it most in 6th gear on the highway. If i am cruising, it feels fine, but as soon as i try to accelerate, the whole car starts to shake pretty bad. Any ideas?

You might want to check your engine and transmission mounts. I don't see how your description would point to an internal engine problem since those types of problems would usually accompany a knocking noise . . .especially if it were the rods.

Is this related to the "shudders" when stopped? I notice when the car has just been driven around (maybe for 10 mins) it'll shudder. Goes away when warm. Sorry if this is completely unrelated to the topic at hand.

The "shudders under acceleration" thing has been definitely resolved: worn CV joints.
