Engine shuts down in 1st
Depending on how many g's you're pulling and how low your fuel is , you may be seeing fuel starvation. Auto-xers usually have this problem on high g left handers when their fuel level is 3 or 4 bars. It's happened to me on the track but, it never feels abrupt like you say, it feels more like the engine is bogged down and not revving fast enough.
Might also be a loss of oil pressure causing the car to drop out of VTEC (car won't go into or stay in VTEC without oil pressure).
Number one thing I'd worry about is a low oil level. Then low fuel level.

Asking a question that people "think" they have already heard an know the answer too can be dangerous here. It is also compounded by the fact that this forum has the WORST search feature I have encounter on ANY forum. Making it virtually impossible to find an answer to a question without posting.
In the future it helps to post as much information as you can about when you encounter a problem, i.e. "fully warmed up" "at what speeds" etc. This will head off some of the ambiguity that can attract some of the patronizing responses. It shouldn't be necessary, but it also helps to mention your personal experience or understanding of the mechanics of a car to key people in that have already thought through the usual issues that could be causing your problem.

if the car shuts down going into a corner hard only in first, if it has anything to do with oil pressure it wouldn't matter what gear you were in as long as you are hitting the G threshold.
Do some experiments. I just hope it's not electrical since those are a PITA (Pain in the ass) to figure out
Whatever you do, please CHECK THE OIL LEVEL. It takes a few seconds, and if you're only cornering hard enough in first to suck air into the oil pump then you'd only see it in first gear. OR, do what others have suggested and just keep driving, and figure out if the car is low on oil later on, after some serious damage is done. NO, don't do that. CHECK THE OIL LEVEL BEFORE YOU DRIVE THE CAR AGAIN. Failure to do so would constitute gross stupidity.
Eleminate the easy to check and potentially damaging things FIRST, then if that doesn't uncover the cause of the problem you can look elsewhere.
1) If this is happening when the motor is properly warmed up:
a) Check the oil level.
b) Check the fuel level (that's even easier than checking the oil level
).
2) If this is happening only when the engine is cold, then just warm the engine to three-bars before trying to rev to VTEC.
3) If it's not any of the above then after you have done the above, post and let us know and we'll see if we can come up with any other suggestions.
It almost has to be related to the cornering forces, because the engine and ECU don't have any way to know what gear the car is in. Could be as obtuse as a chafed wire that shorts out during hard cornering, but let's eleminate the easy to check (and dangerous) stuff first, OK?

Nobody mentioned the "Oil in the PCV valve" issue? I know a lot of people don't notice a significant loss in power when that happens to them, but I always do.
To the original poster:
1) Does your engine sound 'muddy' when this loss of power occurs?
2) Do you notice a lot of smoke (probably bluish-grey) coming from your exhaust when this happens?
3) Does it happen more frequently when you turn one direction vs the other?
If "No" on those, then try the MAP Whack. It's the next simplest answer. However, I've never experienced sudden loss of power when I'm having MAP sensor issues... generally, it just feels like the car is dragging a parachute along behind it.
