Default Engine size for shipping

I plan on having a friend ship my engine off while I am deployed. I would liek to get it all boxed up and ready to go for him, what are the measurements of the engine so I can get a good sized box for it? and will the double walled boxes at uhaul work good? anyone with experience shipping an engine to laskey racine or Inline pro?

U need a small pallet and lay it on it's side and strap it down and use ups freight it's the best and cheapest way no box needed and it weights 145 lbs for a long block

When shipping my old b16 across country I grabbed a small pallet/skid from a local distribution center, then laid the engine on top and tied it to the pallet. They picked it up, no problem. with a little hand truck.

What are you shipping it, and what are you shipping? I complete motor with all accessories? Just a short block. Just the block and girdle?

I followed laskeys requirement for shipping the motor. an easy explanation is. Go to your local u-haul and grab a shorty wardrobe box, on the wa home stop at home depot or lowes and grab 2 sheets of blue or pink 1 inch thick foam insulation. when ya get home cut it up and fit it nicely inside the box so that ya have 4 pieces on the bottom and 2-3 on the sides and top. Plop the motor in and seal her up. When you get to your freight shipping place they will put the box on a pallet and hit it with dunnage and plastic wrap so don't worry about that stuff. Done.
