Engine stalls when you come to a stop?
Some one explain to me what the IAT sensor is and just how to reset the ECU because I have almost the same problem. I have been reading these posts for an hour now and have found a lot of people with a staling / hesitation at idle. No one knows how to fix it or why the car does it. I have that problem plus two more. The first one is in the morning when the engine is cold, I start it up and it revs up and down about five times or until I give it one good rev then it stops. This doesn't bother me, but the neighbors probably think that I am a jack@ss for revving my car at 6am considering my racing medallion is very loud. The second problem is after I have been on a long constant drive like say fifty or so miles on the freeway, the car will just all of the sudden hesitate. Not from a take off or slowing down or stopping. Just cruising along at like 25-30 it will just sputter for a second and then take off again like nothing happened. Am I going in the right direction here with all this ECU / IAC talk. I would like to take it to the dealer and let them work it out but I realize that the idiots there have probably never worked on, or even changed the oil on a s2k so that would get me no where. If anybody knows what I should do please help. It seems like everyweek I am fixing something on this car.
The IAT is "Intake Air Temp" sensor. The seems to be most related to the "bog issue" Hot air is less dense and the proper amount of fuel needs to be metered, if the sensor is reading wrong .... well you get the picture.
