Default EPS light on

I started my car tonight and my EPS light stayed on. Everything feels normal. Please help.

EPS is electronic power steering. Check the fuse. Do you have any power steering?

I think I have P/S but I did not even pull it out of the garage. My garage floor is slick but the wheel was easy to trun.

Does the car still feel like it has power steering? It will probably be OK to drive, just be prepared if the power steering goes out.

You will need to get the code read to find out what is wrong. Too many possibilities to guess without a code.

I've noticed if I let the car sit at idle too long, my EPS light will come on. Not sure why, but it does. Once I start driving, it goes away in about 15-30 seconds. The steering is noticeably heavier while the light is on.
