Started car in my garage and while backing out I noticed my steering was a little bit on the heavy side. Looked at display and to my surprise red 'EPS' was glaring at me! Turned steering wheel left and right and yup no power steering. Backed out my garage and turned off engine hoping light would go away along with the problem. Guess what? Light went off and had power steering back. Not sure if minor bug or not but has this happened to anyone else? This would really be scary if 'EPS' just decided to go out while actually driving.

Ive had a manual steering car and when you are driving its alot easier to steer then if you are standing still. But get that EPS fixed.

Well, I just had my power steering fail in a tight turn off the Baltimore beltway. The strreing suddenly got heavy, thought a tire went flat. Pulled over and checked, tires were fine. Then I noticed the EPS light on. I tried to make sure the connections were tight, hard to get my hand in there but did the best I could. Even looked for the fuse and that seemed to be all right. Will have it looked at soon as the hurricane blows past.

I have had this same issue happen a few times. It seems that if you start the car and drive off quickly causes the EPS system to temporarily fail just as you have described. Did you also backup right after you started the car, instead of waiting a few seconds?

I did back up soon after I started it up, not sure if it was immediately after I started it up. MAS emailed me the PDF for the reset but it appears that you have to have a Honda PGM tester. I don't know if that is something that only the dealer has or if I can get it at someplace like Pep Boys.
