EPS light and power steering
For about a week, my EPS light has been coming on about 50% of the time after i crank my car (if i recrank immediately after, it stays on) , and i've checked my power steering fluid levels and cleanliness and they are fine. I've done numerous searches but have found little finite answers on what may be the cause of the problem. I don't really feel like letting my dealer (no longer under warranty) poke around on my car for hours while they charge me. Any help on general problem areas would be greatly appreciated.
the hourly charge for the dealer to "poke around" until they find the power steering fluid would become very expensive. (btw how long have you owned your S ? you have been around for almost two years and have not filled or changed your steering fluid
) If you were searching for anything related to steering fluid,I know why you found nothing
As for the cause of the esp light, I don't know. I have heard there are "DTC" type codes that you can pull/have pulled frome the steering system. There are many people more experienced on this board than I, so maybe someone else can be of more help. good-luck...and.....beware
btw...you did check your muffler bearings, located behind the secret compartment, every 500 miles right?
OK guys, help the guy out a bit.
EPS = Electric Power Steering
There is no power steering fluid as it is not a hydraulic system. Maybe you checked the clutch or brake fluid. As for the EPS light I don't know, might be worth it to have the dealer scan the computer and check the system.
