EPS Problem
Just finished up a wire tuck and EPS relocation. Now the EPS is not working. The light is on and there is no power steering. I marked the connectors before unplugging them so i know for a fact that i did not mix them up. I have power going into the EPS box. Wheni test for power at the connector on the steering rack i have no power on either the red or the green wire. I assume that one of the wires (assuming the red wire) should have power, correct?

I have recently rewired (tucked) 2 S2Ks and can say that a possible ground wire may be your problem. Recheck all grounds and also if you spliced any harnesses, make sure you soldered all connections and taped them separately to avoid contacting with each other.
Let me know if this helps.

I used a paper clip to jump the service connector and i am getting code 14. The service manual states that as a short to ground. I can physical see all the wires that i pulled through the firewall and non of them are cut or rubbing the frame/together. The wires are through a rubber grommet. Could code 14 also be caused by a missing/bad ground? What grounds are tied into the eps circuit?
I also went the though the steps of clearing the code and it would not let me do it, every time i would turn the key on with the service connector jumped the code would just flash. The light would not stay on for a solid 4 seconds.

I had also started the car and drove it back into the garage at one point with the EPS unhooked completely. Could that have thrown a code that is still effecting it?

To check for a short to ground i went to the connector on the EPS box with the small wires going into it. With a test light i picked up 3 of those wires as a ground. 2 black and one yellow. Can anyone confirm that these three wires are in fact supposed to go to ground? The yellow wire is the one i am sort of suspicious of.

Yes: the two black wires are Ground (terminals 4 and 6)
The Yellow wire (terminal 1 of the 14 pin connector) has battery voltage with ignition ON, and 0V with ignition OFF
On the 2 pin connector going to the steering motor (GRN, RED) they do not have battery power. GRN is Motor -, RED is Motor +
The other 2 pin connector (BLK, WHT/RED); BLK no power, WHT/RED Battery voltage at all times

According to the EPS Control Unit Inputs and Outputs for Connector B (14 Pin); the Yellow wire (terminal 1) will read Ground when Ignition is off.
Try shutting the engine OFF, follow some of the EPS harnesses with your hand and lightly massage them. Then restart your car. By massaging the harnesses you may cause one wire to reconnect. If this happens and your EPS light is now OFF; remember what wires your felt, then diagnose the break.
