Default Eratic E-Brake Light / Switch....

Ever since I got a new stereo installed this week my e-brake light has been eratic. It worked fine before the installation. After I picked up the car it stopped working. I took the car back to them and it worked again. I just lubricated my shifter and the e-brake light now won't come on.

The switch looks fine, it goes up and down smoothly, the wire is connected and everything looks good. The light just won't come on, and this is keeping my convertible roof from opening. The lightbulb works as it comes on upon start up, but it won't come on with the e-brake engaged.

There are two tiny metal prongs on the bottom of the switch, they look a bit wide when the switch is in the up position, I'm wondering if they need to be narrowed a bit , not sure how they affect the switch. Any sort of test I can do to see what might be affecting the switch ?, thanks for any advice.

I got it solved so I'll reply to my own question in case this helps others out in the future. Like I suspected the two small prongs at the base of the switch were overly wide and weren't touching the base of the switch properly when the switch rises in conjunction with the brake handle being lifted. I took a pair of pliers and squeezed the two small prongs closer together and the switch immediately started working and the light on the dashboard came on. I can now open my roof !. The guys working on my stereo install must have knocked the switch around causing the lower prongs to widen.
