Exhaust Systems Which One?
I just put on my Neuspeed dual exhaust yesterday, and this is my review....
From what I've read on this and other boards, the advantages of an aftermarket exhuast are clearly defined as weight savings, looks, and sound. Power gains do not seem to be a high priority, as the factory exhuast is typically the same diameter as any aftermarket unit, and mandrel bent at that (with the exception of the Y-connection splitting the pipes).
As expected, the Neuspeed exhuast doesn't feel like its creating more power for the car. It looks very classy, as it is a full stainless steel exhaust, and it has dual outlets. The tips protrude from the bumper an extra inch or two from the factory unit, are also polished, but the end of the tips (abot 1/4 inch long) have a brushed aluminum or titatium look to them. I will post pics of this later in the day.
Weight savings on this articular exhaust is not terribly significant -- a few punds at best, but I guess every bit counts.
The sound is what I really went for. There was a website posted not long ago with sound clips of several exhuast systems available for the S2k, and after downloading and playing all of them, the Neuspeed was my choice. It is a quieter, more refined sound, with a deeper note than what is expected from a 4 banger. I would compare the sound directly to that of a 5Zigen Fireball unit on a later MY Civic Si. Louder than stock, with a rich, deep note. Definitely not an intrusive unit.
The actual install was a breeze, I did it in about 25 minutes, and I am not very savvy with a wrench. It did come with all the neccessary components, gaskets, and bolts for the installation.
Any questions?

I've heard of pretty good power gains with just a CAI and an exhaust...but that could be the result of the dyno used. My friend with a injen CAI and a HKS got about 220 to the wheel. Same power gains with the AEM CAI and the Spon N1, like i said, it could be the result of the dyo used.
I run the Spoon N1 setup. It's really boomy from 4000-5000 but once into Vtec land it just sings like none other. If you can handle the boominess of it, the Spoon has no equal in sound. Very mean. Oh, and I wouldnt put this one a daily driver. Mine is driven about 100 miles or so on a weekend at the most.

I'm perfectly happy with my HKS.
louder than stock, but with a throaty howl.
HKS + CAI = sweet music.
I just couldn't do the single, it just doesn't look right from the back to me.
Maybe if we could get someone to make a new rear valence with just one cutout........

it takes longer to get the stock exhaust out than it does to install the Spoon. you only need to get the back of the car up and then a 14mm ratchet or wrench. I would also use WD-40 or silicone grease to lube the factory rubber exhaust hangers. It will make sliding them off MUCH easier.
I would also recommend another body to help you drop the factory so that you wont scratch it up. Not needed but I wanted to make sure mine was perfect.
