I would expect it to last as long as any honda. It is built with rpms in mind, the rod to stroke ratio is rpm friendly, and it has forged pistons as well. I know they spend\t more time on this motor than an accord motor. I would like to see my car turn 200,000, and would expect it to last to 250,000. Really I mean this 2.0 liter holds 5+ quarts of oil, and most people use synthetic, the old 80's accords use around 3! Hard driving or not it will last.

Maintenance and how you treat your car will determine how long it will last. honda has done their homework!
I've got 165,000 on an '02 daily driver.

I'm no mechanic by any means, but I change my oil/ filter every 4 to 6K and have been doing that and only that for the past two years. (I probably need to get someone to do the whole 50 point check thing). I did get my 100K service, but haven't been back since.

Also, I autcrossed her on a VERY regular basis for the first two years I had her.

* 1 clutch replacement
* 1 issue with the wiring harness that I had to get Honda of America to step in and fix (in the mean time, they changed out my fuel injectors twice, 2 tune-ups, fuel cleaning service or something like that, 4 computers - all for free). Finally they replaced the wiring harness and all the problems went away.
* 1 diff switchout to 4.56 (by choice) nothing wrong with the old diff.
* Plugs were switched out a couple times with that wire harness deal and I haven't done anything with them since.
* Brakes...believe it or not, I still have the original stock brakes, although I went through a couple sets of performance pads while in my autocross stage of life.
* Tires - lots - I'm on RE050s? They're RE somethings and they last forever while providing sufficient grip on the streets. I've had my share of 9,000 mile super-duper-performance tires, but they only lasts me about 3 months and what good is that?
* K&N Filter
* Front swaybar

I am a fairly agressive driver and love to drive the twisties when I can get up to the mountains. I haven't babied this car and I've taught my girlfriend the drive it like she means it also.

It's built for fun, so you might as well put it to that use.

Have fun.
Put the money into it to make it fun and reliable.
It will pay off in the end and you should have YEARS of enjoyment!!
