I have an 02 s2000 and I am trying to remonve the exterior drivers side door handle. I have gotten the 2 10mm bolts off but it looks like the loking mechanism is stopping the handle from coming out. If anybody has sucessfully removed one please help...matt

 

First you need to remove the other end of the thick rod-one end at the door handle and the other end is at the door latch-held on with a 10mm nut. Then remove the key lock that is held on by a u shaped spring clip. Once you have removed the clip you can push the key lock assembly inward and slide the brackit off (the one that was held on by the two bolts). Then from the out side of the car pull out the handle and unscrew it from the rod-put a piece of tape on the rod threads before unscrewing it makes it easier for reassembly-used as a guide. Do not force anything- if all the correct parts were removed the door assembly will slide out.
