Default F22 Piston in F20

Hey guys/girls,

My engine is toast. Pistons are gone, bearings, piston rings, cylinders are slightly damage.

Where i live, its quite hard to find parts, i own an MY03 s2k.

Is it possible to swap over the F22 pistons onto the F20 con rods and use them?

i know the diameters of both pistons are the same (87mm) but the head length is different.

Any inputs into this? isit possible?

what would your advices be in this type of situation?

Need some feedback.

Thanks all.

what is head length?

you could do that no problem but you would see a significant drop in compression if you did.

put in a thinner head gasket would adjust the compression back towards the higher end though... or would it?

it would raise the compression a little, but why use those pistons in the first place if you are just going to use a thin hg to raise the compression back up?

f22 pistons in an f20 might be something to do if you want lower compression for a turbo motor w/o sleeving the block or whatever. for for a stock rebuild or NA setup its worthless.

its pretty hard to find after market pistons made for the frm walls though and theyre pretty expensive too. so i guess the f20 pistons would still be best. but what about the h22 pistons they have the same bore dont they? are they any taller or shorter?
