A 2004-2005 engine can be put into any ap1 in any configuration. Short block, or fulled loaded long block with every sensor, intake, and wiring harness. It is a direct plug and play, the 2004-2005 harness will plug right into the AP1 ecu. With that said, of course you may retail your original AP1 harness and any parts the AP2 engine may be missing.

The ONLY physical mod will be to cut a small tab off the fuel line by the rail, if you use an AP2 fuel rail with an AP1 fuel line. And that is IT.

I would recommend keeping the AP1 flywheel as well.

Yep. I kept my AP1 flywheel when I put in the MY05 f22c engine. Perfect combo with the AP1 trans.

Even better with boost.

umm, that a very interisting question. I don't want my engine to blow never but if eventaully it does, a f22c will be on my AP1. I always have the concern about the 8,900rpm in the F22c. But the AP1 camshafts?? it's a interisting question

I can take it to 9k but I'm confortable at 8.6k-ish(when I ran nitrous I'd shift at 8k if I could catch it )

Indeed. I rev the stock AP2 F22c to 9k. No AP1 cams... completely stock F22c longblock. Seems to be taking it happily with no problems. Took it to autocross today and it took everything I threw at it.
