fabricating a CAI
Anyone have any ideas on how to fabricate a CAI? I thought about working with fiberglass, but I havent worked with it for quite some time. Has anyone came up with a plastic method? I'm sure some of you out there have thought about. I know i could just buy one, but I cant justify spending too much money on a piece of plastic, fiberglass, carbon fiber etc...... Lets put our brains together.
You can have some one that works with mandrel bent piping and have them make the piping. They can run the pipe anywhere you want it and all you need is a filter. It will still be cheaper then AEM or Injen's intake. Just a thought.

Depends on what you're trying to do. Do you want to replace the stock air box, or just route cold air to it? Although this setup would need some modifications to work for the stock air box, I made the following for $60:

I made this...
and opened up the pax side fake air vent in the bumper.
the intake does not run all the way to the vent becaise of rain, etc.
I just let the vent fill the fenderwell with cold air and work like a big cold air box. The tube on the intake runs an inch or so inside the fender and stops.
