Don't go to the dealer!

They will overcharge you, and mote likely to screw it up than get it right, then they'll blame you for their error.

They'll also try and upcharge you for stuff you don't need, which is especially bad because you'll pay them to do damage to your car.

These videos are all a great help. Here is another one showing the process to remove the valve cover. I found it helpful because it shows how to move some stuff out of the way along the firewall behind the valve cover so that the cover can be lifted almost straight up when you are pulling it off. I struggled getting the cover off the first time I did this. Second time, after watching this video and others, it was much easier. I think it is important to be well rested and set aside plenty of time to do this job the first time. Take breaks if you get frustrated. It can be frustrating. But, it is completely doable. The second time you do it will be a lot faster than the first time. I pretty much figured my car would be off the road for weekend. But, in reality it only took me a few hours start to finish. Start early in the morning and you are done before lunch.

Some, not many, dealers will have a mechanic on staff who owns an s2k and who is familiar with this stuff. Absent that, I would stay away from the Honda dealers and try to find a local mechanic who is familiar with the S2k which is actually a bit of a specialty. Be wary of mechanics who act all full of themselves and tend to plow ahead too fast when they really have no clue about these cars. Might be worthwhile posting in the regional threads asking for leads for a good mechanic in your area.

Makes sense, I have become aware of a few local shops that work on S2000, need to visit them and assess to the best of my capabilities based on work they claim to have done in the past. I am so distrustful of garages it is not even funny, from damage to theft of parts to careless handling . . . I actually dread every moment thinking about what can happen before I visit a garage. Appreciate the advice though
