Default Fast Idle

Needing help to adjust fast idle only. Idle after few minutes warm up okay but start up idle races too much.
Thanks for any how to recommendations.

Year 2000-2005?

These have a secondary air pump to heat up the catalyst. It's perfectly normal for these cars to idle at 1500-2000RPM before they warm up. When the air pup cuts off, it returns to the ~1000RPM idle.

Thanks for the info. Myo6 is idling near 2000 rpm at start up. Using 5w30 Mobil 1 Guess I'm good to go?

Not sure on MY06. It lacks the air pump, but I would imagine it idling high to heat the catalyst is still done. Someone else would need to confirm, though.

I really did not notice that hi of idle on the my05 i had but this my06 is very noticeable. it had a hondata reflash before i purchased it. do you think this could contribute to the faster idle speed?

Maybe, but probably not.

If it's in the 2200RPM range for a few minutes after a cold start, that seems consistent with what S2000s do.

My 06 civic Si was DBW just like your S and it would always start at around 2k rpm and slowly creep back down. I just thought it was a Honda thing as a lot of other Hondas do that including my 02 S.
