Default A few problems

First off, I have a basically all stock ap1. Different top and sway bar, but other than that, stock. I don't know a ton about cars so explain in great detail please!!

When I hit any kind of bump, I can hear a squeak and a rattle from the front of the car. I suspect it's a bushing going out, but I've looked over all the bushings I can see and they look fine, I even lubricated them with some silicon spray.

Next, My clutch sticks at the bottom and it doesn't quite feel like it's adjusted right in the first place.

Also, today while driving, my car started sounding like an alien spacecraft. It has a whine that changed pitch with the rpm. I had the ac running and I was told that could be it. It eventually stopped.

My oil dipstick will be popped up every time I open the hood.

V-tec doesn't seem to kick in as hard as it does on other s2k's that I've ridden in.

My car has 70k miles. I have only had it for about 2 months and I've put about 5k miles on it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ask if you have questions. And yes, I drive it hard.

I'll try to point you in the right direction and then the SEARCH function can take over from there.

What type of front sway do you have? Some of them use teflon tape that can wear over time. The endlinks on some of the aftermarket bars can squeak and rattle as well.

You'll have to give more detail than that. Could be a variety of things.

More information. Noise from the front? Rear? What made it better and what made it worse? Did you try turning off the AC?

My oil dipstick will be popped up every time I open the hood.
Turn the head of the dipstick 180 degrees. Or buy a new dipstick.

V-tec doesn't seem to kick in as hard as it does on other s2k's that I've ridden in.
Check your oil, clean your air filter. It may be normal as it tends to feel more impressive when you're not driving.

The sway bar is a Gendron

The main thing I'm worried about is the clutch sticking at the bottom. I think that I grind second more than I should, but that might be me or the car.

The noise came from the front. It seemed much louder inside the car than it did outside the car. It didn't last very long, but it continued to make the noise some even after I turned off the ac. I turned the ac back on and it went away within 5 minutes.

for your grinding gears and sticky clutch there are three fixes: Do them ALL.

Change transmission fluid with eithier HONDA OEM, Redline MTL/MT-90, or GMFMSM.

Bleed clutch fluid, replace if dirty - also while youre down there, check the clutch master cylinder - lots of AP1s and some AP2s are starting to leak (normal lifespan, maybe?)

Pull out the slave cylinder, check the push rod that actuates the shift fork - most likely it has developed a nipple and there is no longer any grease on it as well - grind down the nipple, regrease, reinstall, bleed.

Do it all and your clutch/tranny will thank you.

If you have more questions try do a quick search on google instead of the s2ki search function - the google search works better.

The Gendron swaybar is known for being a bit loud. It knocks and squeaks. The blades can hit the shocks. The bar can twist in the brackets. All lead to squeaks and knocks. The Gendron bar is really for the very serious autoxer/track junkie. If you aren't ever going to use the car for autox/track, then sell it to someone who will and pick up a stock bar.

Tranny/clutch issue's been covered.

The spacecraft whine: Do you have an aftermarket stereo or amp? If so the whine is probably coming from there. You would even hear it with the radio off. The pitch should go up as rpm increase. Put your ear next to the door speaker to see if the whine is coming from there. If so, you need a ground loop isolator or a better set of shielded wires.

The dip stick pop is common. You can get a new o-ring for the dip stick if it really bothers you.

The dipstick doesn't bother me much. I turned it around and it feels a lot tighter.

The sound wasn't from my speakers. I check that. The pitch of this went up with the rpm.

Well...disconnect your amp and head unit and see if the whine disappears.
