Is FI cleaning worthwhile?
I just got my 15,000 mi service done at the dealer, which I was happy with. They didnt find any particular problems, but recommendations for further work included:
Fuel injector cleaning - $129
Alignment - $99
Cabin a/c filter change - $99
Do people think these are worthwhile investments?

Fuel injector and an alignment at 15k?! I think they're trying to pad their profits. If you use good fuel (I try to use one of these) and possibly a bottle of fuel injector cleaner every blue moon, you should never need the dealer to clean them.
Cabin air filter change for $99
The filter itself cost $24.25. Here's the link for it.

It took me about 15 minutes to change it. Here's the how-to for it:

NO (fuel injector additive in the gas at oil change time is adequate), NO (unless you've just schmucked you car into a pothole or curb), and NO!!!!! (see below)
(Unless you fell off a turnip truck yesterday.)

The sad part is ML was smart enough to ask if these were legit charges, how many others have said "O.k., do what you have to do."
ML, I'd be looking for a new place to have my work done.

While the dealership seems a bit overzealous, the alignment thing doesn't need to be predicated on hitting a pothole. It is not uncommon for the S to have suspect alignments when delivered to the customer. Perhaps... doubtful... they checked the tires and found excessive wear on the insides(more than normal).
As a note, you should always check the inside part of the tread. The outside will almost always look "good."
Everything else being a crock, the alignment probably is also,

1. RE FI injectors --- I'll follow your advice on the Techron additive prior to each oil change (I have used it once so far I think).
2. There are a couple 'parking scuffs' on my rims which is why they brought up the alignment issue -- but the car still tracks straight and doesnt show uneven tire wear. I'll look into it again when I change tires.
3. I'll change the cabin a/c filter myself --- much gracias for the link!
