this falls in the rice category. people see it on race cars and try to emulate it on their street cars. very much the same war ricers see giant spoilers on track cars and put them on their mom's civic. also like when people see race cars low to the ground, they slamm their street cars so low that they end up having to drive slow everywhere.

B_serious: the fireball/flame does not form untill it exits the the tailpipe where the hot (spark/ignition source) and unburnt fuel (fuel) meets the final element needed for fire (oxygen). there is not enough oxygen in the exhaust system for the fire to form yet. a catalytic converter chemically converts unburnt fuel into hydrogen and oxygen. two hydrogen molecules mix with one oxygen molecule = H20. and thats how/why water in an exhaust system is common. i'll stop here because getting into hows/whys of CO2 will be getting off topic.


if you want ricey fireballs, get a test pipe and a really rich tune.
