Thumbs up First couple oil changes

Well this is my first oil change I am doing on my own and not at honda. The guys at honda are real idiots and they all have different answers so i dont think i'm going to be trusting them. I want to know what oil would be good to put in. I know its 10-w-30. but what brand should be good? and MIN? SYN? or synblend? What should I be using and what is one of the best? One guy at honda said 100% synthetic and the other said semi-syntetic. So thanks guys.

edit: I'm also at 9000 miles

You already consider them idiots. This just answered your question about what they told you.

You've had the original oil in there for 9000 miles?
Do one more interval with non-syn, any name brand will do. And this time, read your owner's manual for how long to leave the oil in there.

"Honda" oil is, of course, just fine. However, Honda oil is just Mobil "Drive Clean" oil. It's nothing special and generally is overpriced from the dealer. You are much better off buying any name brand oil at the autoparts store - Castrol, Penzoil, etc.

Do your own research on oils in general. Any good syn. oil like Mobil 1 or Amsoil is a good choice. You may want to go aftermarket on your oil filter as well, it turns out that many oem filters are fram ones with a different cover, which I found extremely dissapointing. The weight should be 10w, but depends on your climate.
