Default First Gear feedback (trouble getting in)

I'm having trouble occasionally getting into first. Sometimes when I try to put it in gear, it will fight back and not let me go in smoothly. Any fixes here? I have a new CMC/SMC as well as Honda MTF.

Pull it back into second before going into first.

Does it grind or just push back? If it's pushing back you probably need to bleed the system better or do a pedal adjustment.

The system is bled, 100% with no air, and fresh ATE. Probably will check out the petal adjustment though.

Are you at a full stop when trying to put it into 1st gear? I always try to "row" down through the gears while coming to a stop all the way back to 1st, making sure to not push into 1st until the car is stopped. This also helps with those pesky "rolling stop" traffic tickets, lol.

You don't have to let out the clutch, just push in the clutch and row down from whatever gear you were in... clutch in, 5th, 4th, 3rd, 2nd, full stop, 1st, clutch out and go.

If your car is still rolling, there isn't much of a reason to drop down to 1st... just leave it in 2nd and start accelerating. Unless you are on a funky autox course that requires a drop back down into 1st, and in this case be sure to rev-match prior to pushing into 1st.

Were the CMC and SMC (isn't it CSC: Clutch SLave Cilinder?) replaced at the same time?
HOW did you bleed it?

Be very carefull adjusting the pedal.
Get it wrong and your next post will be: "My clutch slips when I try to go uphill" or something.

When everything related to the clutch that needs grease is greased you can put it in 1st without grinding while going up to 10-15 km/h.
Even in reverse while rolling forwards, without any grind.
(yes.. reverse also has a synchro)

The clutch was bled with DOT 4 SB ATE, by the gravity method. Worked good. I've been going through the gears before stops, but I'm always hesitant to hold down the clutch. Isn't that bad?

UPDATE: The part of the shifter assembly (the plastic ring that always gets broken when taking it off) fell loose with the broken tabs, I went to my local Honda Dealer and replaced the part for $6. Problem fixed!
