Default Fluid Change?

My MY00 has about 9,000 miles on it. I changed the diff, tranny, brake and clutch fluids about 5 years ago at the 6,000 mile mark. Clearly I do not drive it much. I'm wondering if you all believe I should change it again since it's almost 5 years old?

If so, what do you suggest for the tranny, diff, brakes and the clutch?

Thanks!

I think only brake and clutch is necessary at this point. I used OEM fluids.

Given that it's over 10 years old, you're due for a coolant change in addition to the brake and clutch fluid.

I change brake, clutch, trans fluid every 2 years. Diff changed every year. Oil is a no brainer.

Even if you don't drive the car as much, the owner's manual mentions the intervals within a specific time frame regardless of miles driven.

If you search around, most s2k owners opt for genuine honda MTF (if not Redline brand MTF), mobil1 75w-90 for the diff (though some use LE1605 or 70w-140 gear oil), then ATE Super blue or Motul RBF600 for the brake/clutch.

Oil is pretty much a toss up. Some people use amsoil because it reportedlt burns the least amount of oil. Keep in mind that the most complained about oil (in terms of burning too much) is Mobil1.

I actually changed the coolant in 2007, so I think that I should be fine there. I think that I'll go the way I did before - GM Syncromesh in the tranny, LE1605 in the diff. I'm trying to decide on the brake/clutch fluid. I used OEM in the past. Perhaps that again, or Motul? I always change the oil with an OEM filter and Mobil drive clean regular oil - every season.

Any thoughts on a place to get all the supplies, minus motor oil and filter, in one spot at a good price?

Thanks again!

Hmm, I didn't realize that for the AP1 the coolant was listed as every 7 years. For my 2004 it's listed as 120k/10 years, then every 60k/5 years.

So by your schedule, you're good for two more years. My mine, you should change your coolant. Strange.

I purposely over-maintain my cars.To me fluids are cheap and car parts are not.

Here's what I do.I am NOT suggesting that you do the same.

Oil,Filter,clean air filter,change clutch & brake fluid=every 5k
Coolant=every other year
Trans & Diff=every 20k or yearly whichever comes first

We have 4 cars.The oldest=16 and the newest=9.Over 450k trouble free miles.

LE would be the limiting factor. Search around for dealers and see if they carry everything else you're looking for.

Interval times changed because the coolant was revised.

Your car came with green. If you now have the blue you are good to go.
