I had the 8lb Findanza in two different motors, ap1 and ap2, loved it! After about 60,000 miles the replaceable friction ring needed to be replaced, which is fine, but the replacement never seated properly again for some reason(possibly the flywheel warped itself) and my clutch PP kept vibrating lose. So I had to drop the trans twice before I said f@#k it and went back to an ap1 flywheel for a wile. I really missed the findana, the ap1 is fine overall, but the engine felt more numb then what I was used to and enjoyed.

After a years or so I picked up the Act pro light flywheel which is like 8.3lb. This one cost a little more then the findanza but it is a beautiful one piece Chromolly flywheel, which will hold up and last forever. Ive been enjoying it in my Current f22/f23 for about 10,000 miles now.

Any "driver" can well adapt to a light weight flywheel in traffic or on the track and after a little time, you don’t realize much is different until you get back into a normal weight flywheel s2k and say this sucks lol. Your Mom may have a harder time though, so keep that in mind if you let her drive your car lol.

I would highly recommend one if you want to increase the fun factor and performance of the S2k. Lighter flywheel is easier on main bearings and drive train, as well as the clutch. Being FI myself, you actually increase the holding capacity of the clutch which is important to me. The motor is producing less rotating inertia and therefore the PP doesn’t have to work as hard to have to stop and grab a hold of the flywheel surface between gear changes. As far as my liking and experience, light is better. I’d run a 6lb if someone made one. Beyond that it would become impractical and fussy for anything other then a racecar.

That’s my 02.

If it is slipping again, the job was done incorrectly. You need to take the issue up with your mechanic.

It seems the dealer did not use any grease when installing the new clutch and flywheel. (from what i found here using google-fu https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/441...lutch%20dbzerk )
I suggested he takes the car back to them and tell them to drop the transmission to see why the clutch is slipping. And while there, he can see for himself if they greased anything - and to show him the service manual page where it's explained.

That's why I hate the dealer. They don't have a f@#king clue. Good thing we're in the same city.
