With some of the discussion about the results of cartest's prediction of s2k performance, forcefed or otherwise, it got me interested to see what I could put together, taking into account many more factors (cam profiles, intake cfm flow, injectors, etc), and actually acknowledging vtec and things.
With that said, anyone have any resources with formulas and the physics behind internal combustion engines? I need much more in depth information than what howstuffworks.com has.

go to a university library and check out the mechanical engineering section. anything you'd find would be chock full o' physics and math.
there was a whole big section on it in my general physics set i had at school when we were covering thermodynamics.

you could always order textbooks online
http://shop.barnesandnoble.com/textbooks/b...LUNCGVM0Z&sit=T
did a google search for "internal combustion physics"
http://www.tpub.com/machines/12.htm
that's probably about as good as you'll get. there's so much goign on in an engine with the explosions and the twisting and the gears, it takes a lot of info and a long time to correlate everything that happens inside the engine itself let alone how the rest of the car affects the engine, including but not limited to CG, engine orientation, transmission speeds, etc.
