I have a similar problem. Found that the clutch master on the interior was leaking. The leak is not very apparent since it drips fluid very slowly where the rod meets the master. I had slight build up and when I pushed it in by hand I could tell the seal was done.

Even if this isn't the problem its a relatively inexpensive part and the installation is pretty simple so you might be able to do it yourself.

95% of S2000 clutch master cylinders leak.

So if yours is leaking, it is likely not going to fix your problem.

i second this, my master cylinder leaks and my clutch pedal does not have this issue. Its simple really, something is not right and its prolly a worn component or lack of grease. with the ammount of work required to do a clutch job, i would just deal with it untill its time for a new one. At that point investigate the parts upon disassembley and re assemble by following the manual and the problem should go away. maybe get the dust boot and slave cylinder off and take a peak at things in the clutch housing, then go from there.

Naturally my first guess was the clutch, so i foolishly shelled out "paper stacks" to get a stage 2 installed (competition clutch) Boy was i wrong.

What's natural about that guess?
