Do you know if they bore through the FRM layer completely before plating?

This thread is about the OEM S2000 FRM cylinders so let's not go there. I'm sure there are plenty of other threads about stock sleeves vs. aftermarket. The stock sleeves are proven to handle over 600whp by multiple forum members here. Inline Pro said they have proven the stock FRM sleeves bored .050mm over are still reliable at 650whp. I can copy/paste their email reply here if neede). These numbers are much higher than most people would even consider.

Oh ok i miss read. I thought it was said to install iron cylinder walls lol. But yes itd be beneficial to keep FRM cylinder wall vs over boring and ending up with alluminum cylinder walls i would think.

Auto Machine Co. in St. Charles, IL did mine and did a great job of it. They do work, especially for vintage and one-off motors from all over the world. They are also the company that produces the blocks from scratch that AMS uses to build their 1,000 hp GSR monster cars. I also had them do my heads (Ross is their head specialist). I cannot recommend them more highly. I've owned an S2000 since 1999 and they may be the best vendor that I've ever dealt with. Give Kim, the manager, a call and discuss your project.

I was going to deck and sleeve my project but they recommended going the OEM honing route with the OEM oversized pistons and rings. That motor was incredibly stout after they rebuilt it for me. Too bad that I crashed that puppy. It was a great car.

Just had my engine rebuilt by Inline Pro which is up the street from me. They can and do hone FRM cylinders. Aside from my rich idle my car pulls harder than ever. BTW they rebuild their engines with different tolerances they deem better than stock. It's a trade secret they won't divulge. I had it rebuilt with their BMC race bearings and stock everything else. Stage 1 head overhaul. Ap2 retainters and banjo bolts. They literally have 100's of F20-22 heads and blocks in their shop atm. People from all over the world send them their S2k engines. Not to mention the swaps they do there. They have an '93 RX-7 they're installing an F20c in. They do J swaps in s2ks and of course forced induction setups in anything. Their bread and butter is F24 stroker kits. Highly recommended but it was another 5k on top of what I was spending so I side stepped that. They also do dyno tuning.

I drove from CT to drop off my engine and almost blew a load in their shop.
I went with the F24 stroker myself. They disassembled, stage 1 head, stroker kit, 100% new timing parts, new oem oil pump, headstuds w/ full gasket set and completely reassembled and it was 7k with tax
considering how much work they did it was worth every penny

put the engine in and it started right up, runs amazing, idles smoother than it ever did before and the extra hp and tq are very very noticeable
