Front OEM Pads - 45022-S2A-E50 vs 45022-S2A-E51 ?
Hey there,
I am about to other the front and rear brake pada from hondapartsnow. How ever, I noticed that there are two different parts for front and back.
Front: 45022-S2A-E50 which is "replaced by" 45022-S2A-E51
Back: 43022-S2A-000 which is "replaced by" 43022-S2A-010
Are the "new ones" any better or even any different? I can order both.
Thanks!

I recently ordered a set of rear pads, with the new part #43022-S2A-010. Haven't tried them yet, but the pad material has a dark tan appearance, with copper colored flecks.
My *recollection* was that Honda pads ordered in the past had more of a grayish appearance to the pad material... not sure if the pad material has changed, or memory is off (:
Hmm I can order both so the question is which one is better and why? :P

From my recollection:
AP1 had ceramic pads.
AP2 had semi metallics.
Honda discontinued both, and now sell 06-11 Civic Si (ceramic?) pads for both options.
I could be wrong. So...maybe cross check some part numbers.
They're probably manufactured by Akebono or Advics instead of Nissin at this point also (none are better or worse, inherently).
Why are you buying OEM pads anyway?
What defines "better"?
Ceramics are generally shitty...but offer low dust. For some strange reason...a lot of people prefer low dust pads.
Semi-metallics generally stop the car better. But they dust more and don't last as long.

Better = general package of quality (dust, durability, performance).
I am buying OEM because I can get them cheaper than most other aftermarket brands here in Europe and at the same time they seem to be overall better until a price point where breaking pads would cost twice as much.

They're upgraded semi metallic pads, ap1 pads swapped over to the ceramics on the Si.

Ap2 pads are both semi metallic, ap1 pads are the ceramics in the 06-14 Si.

You're overthinking this, they're upgraded semi metallic pads.
