Thumbs up Fuel Filter on MY04

If this has been covered before, forgive me, but I have not been able to find any information regarding a fuel filter for the MY04 S2000 using the search engine. Is it in the tank, or is there an inline filter?

If anyone can enlighten me I would appreciate it.

Thanks in advance,

The only filter is the pick-up sock on the fuel pump. Honda doesn't have a reccomended service interval to replace it, It's not exactly easy to reach.

Thanks a lot, do you know how much performance is degraded over time if the sock is not cleaned or changed?

Honda phased out replaceable fuel filters on the 96 Civic. Every new model since hasn't had a inline fuel filter. There are 1000's of Hondas built since that have over 200K and no perfomance issues with the filter.

The sock sits on the bottom of the fuel tank. It would have to be blocked by sediment to cause a performance problem.

The best thing you can do is buy gasoline from a busy service station that pumps lots of gas. They usually keep the gas pump's filters and h20 seperators maintained more than smaller stations.

also avoid using strong fuel system cleaners like bg 44k too often. they will sometimes eat up the 'silk' lining inside the tank.
