Default Fuel Tuning Questions (Experts needed)

Hello guys, basically I am trying to get everything in order to run 9-10 psi of boost on my Supercharged S2000. I have a couple of tricks up my sleeve to get around some of the possible issues ,but I am not sure how much the fuel system would have to be upgraded if any to safely reach my goal. Does anyone know what the stock injector size on the S2000 is ? Since I obviously don't want to have to run the injectors at a 100% duty cycle to support 330-340 rwhp what is the largest injector the s2k can take without going to a custom setup ? (270,310,440 ??) Since, the Comptech system already comes with an upgrade fuel pump and a boost dependant FPR; I was hoping to get away with adding a VAFC for fine tuning. Hopefully, the engine internals can handle 9 to 10 psi of boost if detonation is kept under control. Any help from some of you guys with more tuning experience would be greatly appreciated. Right now this is looking like a rather inexpensive boost upgrade kit for all you SC guys. Thanks.

I'm not of any help, but I'd like to know how things turn out. I would think that some of the information that derryck has after his turbo install would apply to a 9+psi SC set up.

I'm not sure the size of the stock injectors, but if my calculations are correct, they should be in the 370cc range. To get 350HP out of the engine using forced induction, and you want to keep close to the stock fuel pressure, you really want 500+cc injectors. If you don't mind pushing the fuel pressure up over 75psi, you can do 450cc injectors. You won't max out the duty cycle, but that pressure is generally unhealthy to most fuel system components.

As for whether the stock ECU can handle the larger injectors... in my experience if you use the Apexi V-AFC to tune the fuel trim, you can get by with 25% larger injectors on a stock honda ECU. So 450cc's will probably work, but 500cc is running a little big for the stock ECU. But not by that much, so it may still be fine. And with 500cc's you can keep the fuel pressure much lower. For either option you will still require a boost-dependend rising-rate regulator like the cartech, and probably also an adjustable FPR like the AEM to control static fuel pressures.

If you choose larger injectors that don't require insane fuel pressures (as in above 60 psi) your stock fuel pump should be fine.

Cheers,
Ben
