Default Fuse 8 Under Dash Keeps Blowing

I posted in another thread because both my windows won't go down, neither will my top and my windshield wipers/sprayers refuse to work. I took out the number 8 fuse and it was blown. I put a replacement in and it didn't fix the problem as it blew also.

I'm assuming there's a short somewhere, but I don't know if this has to do with another part of the convertible top pieces going bad. Anyone have any ideas? I have no idea what else to look for. I was told to look at the soft top control unit, would that be a possibility?

need to narrow down the cause. start unplugging things. does it blow as soon as you put the fuse in?

start with the easiest components to get to.

As soon as I replace it, and then turn the car on it blows. I'm wondering if my master switch got some water in it since it's been raining and I had the door open. Is that at all possible?

you need to find what components are powered by that fuse

I'm almost positive it's the window master switch and the wipers

I unplugged the soft top control unit and tried another fuse, and it blew the second I turned the keys.

The other things it says are on it are the intermittent wiper relay, power window control unit/master switch and the windshield wiper motor.

I checked the other fuses that are associated with any of these things even remotely (5, 12 and 13) and they are all fine, no problems whatsoever. Is it possible that water seeped into the window master switch and is causing the short with all of this rain?

you might just want to try disconnecting the battery before replacing the fuse.
